This Saturday is Linemen Appreciation Day. I would like to thank all of our linemen for the work they do every day, especially working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing, it is important that we protect workers in New Jersey. Below I have included two stories about the work that the NJ AFL-CIO is doing. In the first case, they have pushed the state to amend their worker compensation law to protect workers, especially essential workers, who get sick with COVID-19. The other is a call to action.Hospitals like Hackensack Meridan are firing their healthcare workers for speaking up about the lack of PPE.
We can not let this stand. We would never work without the proper safety equipment and neither should our doctors and nurses. I would urge everyone to read the story below and take action.
